  13. Flushed with recent success with a query to comp.sys.mac.hardware, I wish to
  14. dip into the collected knowledge once more...

  16. I recently bought a Micropolis 170 Mbyte hard disk (Model 1375). I also got a
  17. tape streamer (75 Mbyte), and both have SCSI interfaces. They were *very* cheap
  18. (25 quid), as they were being obsoleted. Trouble is, I need help with fitting
  19. them to my mac. Particulary...

  21. 1)      Does anyone know where (in Britain) I can get a power supply that'll
  22.     deliver 12 Volts at 5 Amps or so, and 5 Volts at up to 5 Amps also?
  23.     (Nice and smooth, o' course!) Preferably second-hand / reconditioned.

  25. 2)      I need two SCSI cables: one standard SCSI 50-way-Centronics-each-end to
  26.     link the hard drive and the tape streamer. This is less important than
  27.     the 50-way Centronics to 25-way 'D'-type cable I  need to link the hard
  28.     drive to the Mac. The thing is, Apple want 50 pounds for such a cable
  29.     Is there a cheaper supplier? Does anyone know the pin-out of the cable?
  30.     I don't mind making one up myself if it's not too involved.

  32. 3)      Assuming I can plug everything together and apply power without
  33.     generating any smoke, I need some software to reformat the hard disk,
  34.     and install a compatible driver. An added bonus would be something that
  35.     will recognise the tape streamer and talk to that also.
