- If you can ftp, then get a hold of min-system-installer-10.hqx off of
- sumex. It is in info-mac/util directory. I believe it should do the
- trick of reducing your minimum system by 300-600K. You need not have
- the finder installed on the floppy. But rename the application you need
- to run 'Finder" and the system will automatically run it on startup
- (thinking that it is the finder!!).
-
- I myself have not used min-system-installer-10.hqx yet. I simply followed
- the instructions in sys7-emergency-disk.txt, which tell you what resources
- you can delete from the system file. I did this for 7.0.1. and now have a
- Disinfectant emergency disk. Works fine! I plan to use the min-system-
- installer-10.hqx program, if and when I get 7.1, which it apparently works
- with. You can find the sys7-emergency-disk.txt file also at sumex in
- info-mac/report. I recommend getting it - it has some useful tips.
