- The answer to that depends on the intended meaning
- of your wording.

- Put plainly, you can put 8MB on the motherboard.

- If your machine came with 2MB, you can add 6MB.

- If your machine came with 4MB, you can add 4MB.

- Note: You CAN mix a 2MB + 4MB SIMM for a total of 6MB.
