- It can be a problem, since you won't be able to detect bad RAM. OS/2
- (and Unix) push RAM much harder than DOS or Windows, so marginal
- memory is more likely to cause problems under those systems. Without
- parity checking, things will just go wrong on you instead of trapping
- and halting the system

- BTW, only the older Macs worked without parity. The newer (and
- faster) models use parity-checked RAM.
