  12. I have just received second hand but unopened two Western Digital Twisted
  13. Pair Ethernet cards. Both came with Diagnostics and drivers, one version
  14. 1.07, one 1.06. The cards are WD8003WT models.

  16. I put one in my XT and one in my AT (main machine). The XT card was left
  17. at the default 280h / IRQ3 settings. The AT card was moved to IRQ5 since
  18. IRQ3 is used by COM2/4, but left at 280h. I have also obtained the newer
  19. SMC Diagnostics version 4.00 (I think). Both machines pass thr basic card
  20. test - but they cannot communicate with initiate/respond to test messages.
  21. They cannot find each other (initiate cannot find the responder).
  22. There is a green light on the back of each card which never goes on. The
  23. cards are connected with the supplied RJ-45 cable (I've tried the cable
  24. that came with each card but no change). Ideas, anyone?

  26. Checkit 3.0 says the IRQs used by each card belong to "CHECKIT".
  27. Nothing else lives on those IRQs or addresses.
