- I have just received second hand but unopened two Western Digital Twisted
- Pair Ethernet cards. Both came with Diagnostics and drivers, one version
- 1.07, one 1.06. The cards are WD8003WT models.
-
- I put one in my XT and one in my AT (main machine). The XT card was left
- at the default 280h / IRQ3 settings. The AT card was moved to IRQ5 since
- IRQ3 is used by COM2/4, but left at 280h. I have also obtained the newer
- SMC Diagnostics version 4.00 (I think). Both machines pass thr basic card
- test - but they cannot communicate with initiate/respond to test messages.
- They cannot find each other (initiate cannot find the responder).
- There is a green light on the back of each card which never goes on. The
- cards are connected with the supplied RJ-45 cable (I've tried the cable
- that came with each card but no change). Ideas, anyone?
-
- Checkit 3.0 says the IRQs used by each card belong to "CHECKIT".
- Nothing else lives on those IRQs or addresses.
-
- Suggestions, help, please. Please mail to hamish@cloud.apana.org.au or
- hmoffatt@nyx.cs.du.edu. Or in Melbourne, Australia you can call me on
- 803-1326 during reasonable hours, though I won't be home Wed/Thu/Fri
- during BH.
-
- Thanks in advance.
