- Does it really hang the bus, or does it trash parts of your hard
- disk (requiring a chkdsk/f to fix)? If it trashes parts of your disk,
- and you've eliminated all other possibilities, then I'd suggest trying
- to load both ASPI4DOS.SYS and SCSIHA.SYS (load "SCSIHA.SYS /V386" after
- ASPI4DOS.SYS). If this fixes your problem, then you've got the
- following choices:
-
- * Keep on using both ASPI4DOS.SYS and SCSIHA.SYS. The only penalty here
- seems to be memory (but you can load SCSIHA.SYS high, unbelievably
- enough).
-
- * Get the latest version of ASPI4DOS.SYS, which seems to be 3.1.
- Unfortunately, version 3.1 is *NOT* available via Adaptec's BBS (as of
- the last time I checked, which was a week ago), and only seems
- available as a part of Central Point Tools 8.0 for DOS (no, that is
- not a mistake -- version 3.1 is a part of a third-party software
- package).
-
- SCSIHA.SYS is available from the Adaptec BBS at (408)-945-7727.
