  11. Hello, I am in the market to buy a new SCSI controller.  I was wondering
  12. which one would be the best to get.  Specifically, I want to know the
  13. advantages and disadvantages between getting a cheaper SCSI controller
  14. (e.g. generic or small name brand) and a more expensive controller 
  15. (e.g. Ultrastor, Adaptec, Future Domain).

  17. If I were just to use them for controlling a hard drive, would there be
  18. a difference between the two (at least in terms of compatibility)?  Also,
  19. what do the ASPI (sp?) drivers do?  Do you need SCSI drivers for SCSI
  20. controllers in general?

  22. Please excuse my ignorance, most of my computer experience has been with 
  23. MFM, RLL, IDE controllers.  SCSI is an new frontier for me.  Seems 
  24. complicated.
