- After four and a half years of faithful service, my IBM-8512 Monitor
- has let me down. I believe the power switch has gone bad. After
- listening to several service departments tell me "labor is $90/hr
- with a two-hour minimum" (throw in cost of parts and I could practically
- buy a new one!), I decided to have a try at fixing it myself. If
- my assumtion (that it's only the power switch that's gone bad) is correct,
- this ought to be possible. Can anyone with any experience working on
- this beast (or ones similar to it) drop me a line? Basically I'm
- looking for info on where I could find a suitable replacement for the
- switch (a Radio Shack part no. would be Excellent), and any general
- info I should have before opening this beast up (I'm a SOFTware person,
- be specific). Email to me or post to the group with the same subject.
- Many many thanks in advance!
