- I had problems similar to this once but it turned out to be a bad power
- connection, i.e. I had to wire a jumper from the CMOS battery to the timer
- chip which in turn fed power to the rest of CMOS.

- I've also seen where the timer had gone bad and therefore messed with the
- rest of CMOS somehow. In that case we just replaced the chip.
