- I have had the same experience with CMS. I had to swap interface cards a few
- times and the drive once before I got something that worked. I bought mine
- at one of those super computer garage sales with hundreds of vendors and
- thousands of customers stumbling over each other. The service from CMS was
- excellent and the turn around time was only a few days. I know of a few
- other companies that could take lessons from them, but I won't mention Adaptec!
-
- Incidentally, have any of the rest of you noticed wheter or not products
- purchased at these big computer swapmeets seem to be more failure prone?
- It just so happens that the CMS Jumbo 250 and the Adaptec 1742B that I
- recently purchased at the REALLY BIG Computer Marketplace show both required
- quite a bit of effort to get working. (The Adaptec people were never
- helpful enough to make that purchase anything but a bad lesson). Is it
- possible that the vendors are dumping the returns from their customers?
