- This problem in your case is because one of your computer can detect between
- HD and DD and the other one can't. So, when you format a DD as a HD (and if
- it does not have a notch for HD indication) and then try to read that disk on
- the computer which can detect the type of disk, computer takes it as a DD and
- gives READ error as the format is not DD (but HD). Try punching a hole on
- the disk (on opposite side of read/write protection switch) and I am pretty
- sure that both computers will read it without giving you any error. Here,
- quality of disk drive is not a problem. Also, according to what I have
- realised, HD and DD have the same material (Magnetic media) the only difference
- is that HD are tested for performance (?). Anyway, in my case, I have been
- using DD as HDs and result is satisfactory (Ofcourse, I only use good quality
- DDs for this purpose.. such as Sony, Maxwell, 3M etc.
