- Greetings from net.land:
-
- I'm currently looking at purchasing a PC sometime soon. After looking at
- several different configurations and CPUs in the $1800-$2000 range, I finally
- decided on a 486SX/25. However, I've recently seen ads (mostly from mail
- order companies) for 486SX/33 systems. If these will soon be available, this
- may be my chip of choice. Are 486SX/33 systems shipping yet? How much more
- expensive are they than a 486SX/25? How much cheaper than a 486DX/33?
-
- Will there be any difference between the SX/33 and the DX/33 other than the
- lack of the FPU in the SX? If that's the only difference, will applications
- which don't use the FPU run as fast on the SX/33 as on the DX/33? Or am I
- missing something here?
-
- I had trouble deciding on a price/performance basis between the SX/25 and the
- DX/33. This could be the answer for me.
