- The mail order experience I had with CDW was unpleasant and I
- would like to bring it to your attention in case you are in
- the process of buying mail order. If you have a chance, call
- the company and tell them you read this message. Their # is
- 1-800-326-4CDW.

- Saturday 10/6, I called CDW to order a NEC 3FGx and a video
- card. The sales person I talked to was Kirby. He was pleasant
- to work with and offered to ship the stuff out 2nd day air with
- no extra charge. I asked approximately when I would receive the
- order and he replied with "Probably Wednesday (10/11) since the
- items will be shipped Monday."

- Thursday 10/12, I hadn't received the monitor or card yet
- so I called CDW to check. I talked with Kirby again and he
- remembered me off the bat. He said that he remembers me because
- he couldn't verify the shipping address with directory assistant.

- Kirby - "I called directory assistance, but they didn't have you
- listed. Are you unlisted?"
- me - "No. If you had problems verifying, why didn't you call
- me and leave a message on my answering machine?"
- Kirby - "I tried but the phone number you gave was bad."

- I had him repeat the number. Sure enough, it was correct. He
- then put me on hold while he tried to verify again. Sure enough,
- I was listed and the address was verified.

- Since the order hadn't gone out yet, I had my order changed. I
- wanted the NEC 4FG instead. Great, he said, I should get it
- Monday (10/16) since the order would go out that day.

- Tuesday 10/17, I called CDW since I hadn't received anything.
- Another salesperson answered and said the order went out Monday
- and not the Thursday before. I asked her what was shipped. She
- said a NEC 3FGx and a Paradise Windows Accelerator card. WRONG!!!
- Kirby was on another call at the time so she said Kirby would
- call me right back.

- Kirby - "Hello Hung, how can I help you?"
- me - "Do you remember me calling you Thursday morning?"
- Kirby - "I do remember the name but refresh my memory."
- me - "Due to some mix-up with my original order on 10/17,
- I had to call on Thursday and verified everything. I then
- changed my order from NEC 3FGx to 4FG. Also, you said
- the order would be shipped out that day. I found out
- it was shipped yesterday."
- Kirby - "Well you know what? I had a hard-disk crash Thursday."

- I went ballistic. The conversation went on and I closed the
- conversation by cancelling the entire order. I will never do
- business with this company again.
