- You'd probably be more interested in the LanProbe II (4996) rather than
- LanProbe I (4991). To match names to some related product numbers:
-
- 4990 ProbeView manager (MS Windows manager for non-SNMP LanProbes)
- 4991 LanProbe I (no SNMP)
- 4992 NodeLocator (works with the LanProbe I to physically locate nodes)
- 4995 LanProbe II with SNMP and RMON (faster than LanProbe I)
- 4996 LanProbe II (no SNMP - works with ProbeView)
- 4997, 4998 Probe Manager (handles RMON probes under OpenView/UX)
-
- I'll leave the comparisons to some unbiased person - I just wanted to make
- sure you were looking at the right product for your job. Of course, if you
- want more information, drop me a note.
