  14. I recently installed emacs on my 710 (from the HP LaserPro demo
  15. CDROM).  I am having a problem with a particular key combination:
  16. M-w (ExtendChar-w).  This key combination is supposed to copy the
  17. current region into the paste buffer (copy-region-as-kill).  Whenever
  18. I type this key combo, though, a ~ is inserted at the cursor point
  19. instead.  If I try to use describe-key and hit M-w, it is not recognized.
  20. ESC w seems to work.  Also, this version of emacs seems to recognize
  21. other Meta key combinations (except M-w).

  23. Am I doing something wrong in the setup files?  Or is this version
  24. from the LaserPro disk (vol 2.1) bogus?

  26. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
