  13.    I have a pretty basic problem (which is not in the FAQ):

  15.      I'm sitting in front of a Sun/DEC/Mips/IBM, running X.
  16.  
  17.      I use xterms.
  18.  
  19.      I rlogin into an HP 9000/710.
  20.  
  21.      When I login to the HP, my $TERM and $term variables 
  22.      are set to `xterm'.  But neither my back space key,
  23.      nor vi work.
  24.  
  25.   Obviously, `stty' and `tset' are different.  Maybe even
  26.   termcap?  Can someone provide me with a short answer.
  27.   Even your .login file would do.
