  16. We have about 100 HP ME10 CAD workstations, series 300,400 and 700. 
  17. Those CAD computers are subdivide in many clusters.
  18. The CAD application is ME10 and the database application is HPDMS which 
  19. is integrated within ME10 and working on a relationel database 'Allbase/sql'.
  20. All those CAD users can connect to the same database server. The database 
  21. server is a HP9000/433, at the end of this year we will purchase a 
  22. HP9000/720 with disk-array and replace the 433 with the 720.

  26. If a ME10 user enables HPDMS and connects to the database, the active 
  27. user om the database server is the dummy user "medmgr", this is listed 
  28. in allbase table SYSTEM.USER which is a pseudotable that contains a row 
  29. for each user currently accessing the DBEnvironment.
  30. So there is only one user active in the database and that's "Mr. medmgr",
  31. but many times.
  32. The databases administrator can never see which real user is active in
  33. the database. This is often a problem when maintenance has to be done.

  35. Who has a solution for the following problems:
  36.  
  37. 1. Which users (UID) are connect to the DNEnvironment.
  38. 2. The real PID on the database server from all users who are connected.
  39. 3. From which cluster client are they comming from.
