- I sincerely apologize for the note I left about contacting my BBS through
- telnet. A caller from Isarel used this method to call my BBS, told me how
- he did it, and NEVER indicated to me that it was against telnet
- guidelines and/or rules. I told him I was new to the net and wanted to
- know how he called my BBS thorugh it; when he told me, I naturally
- assumed that dilaouts were part and parcel of the TELNET service. In
- other words, I thought dialouts were part of the service that TELNET
- offers. Naturally, I wanted more people (especially international
- callers) to call my BBS since it is relatively new, so I posted the
- procedure that this caller from Isarel described to me. I was completely
- suprised at the half-dozen messages in my mailbox telling me what an
- a**hole I was for shafting the University of Washington (I'm a student
- there, so naturally I don't want my tuition to go up due to people
- abusing their computer system). All I can say is I'm sorry and that I got
- some bad information.
