  11. Hello Again, another technical puzzle (to me).

  13. Q. What is different between 11/84 memory and 11/83 memory.

  15. I was just about to pull apart an 11/84 to build up an 11/83 system
  16. and I noticed that the DEC book lists the following:-

  18. MSV11-JB   1MB ECC MEMORY (M8637-BA)    for 11/84
  19. MSV11-JC   2MB ECC MEMORY (M8637-CA)    for 11/84
  20. and
  21. MSV11-JD   1MB ECC MEMORY (M8637-DA)    for 11/83
  22. MSV11-JE   2MB ECC MEMORY (M8637-EA)    for 11/83
  23. and
  24. MSV11-RA   1MB PARITY PMI MEMORY (M7458-AA)  for 11/84-P,11X84-P
  25.  
  26. Can I use the M8637 memory modules from an 11/84 box in a normal
  27. BA23 system?

  29. Do I need to change any jumpers or anything?
