- Hello Again, another technical puzzle (to me).
-
- Q. What is different between 11/84 memory and 11/83 memory.
-
- I was just about to pull apart an 11/84 to build up an 11/83 system
- and I noticed that the DEC book lists the following:-
-
- MSV11-JB 1MB ECC MEMORY (M8637-BA) for 11/84
- MSV11-JC 2MB ECC MEMORY (M8637-CA) for 11/84
- and
- MSV11-JD 1MB ECC MEMORY (M8637-DA) for 11/83
- MSV11-JE 2MB ECC MEMORY (M8637-EA) for 11/83
- and
- MSV11-RA 1MB PARITY PMI MEMORY (M7458-AA) for 11/84-P,11X84-P
-
- Can I use the M8637 memory modules from an 11/84 box in a normal
- BA23 system?
-
- Do I need to change any jumpers or anything?
-
- Any help gratefully received.
-
- Regards, John G. (e-mail replies preferred)
