  32. I'm bit rusty to be able to guess whether you are refering to SDI,
  33. DSSI, or SCSI drives, but if it's the latter, then your prices are on
  34. the verge of becoming wildly out of date.

  36. In the latest issue dn&r, an interesting table describing the latest
  37. crop of SCSI drives shows that DEC has two very competitive drives
  38. coming out within the next two months.

  40. DSP5350:  3.5 Gbyte, 5.25 in, 11.5 ms seek, 20 Mbyte transfer, $3495, 1/93.
  41. DSP5350:  1.6 Gbyte, 3.5 in, 10.0 ms seek, 20 Mbyte transfer, $1995, 12/92.

  43. As for memory, another table (describing memory for DEC 3000) shows:

  45. 32 Mbyte $4000. Other vendor's prices are $4800 and $5600.
  46. 64 Mbyte $8000. Other vendor's prices are $7800 and $10000.

  48. Check also the prices for the new Alpha AXP systems. I think you will
  49. also see that on a price/performance basis, they are very competitive.
