  22. Jekyll is a full duplex file transfer protocol that allows your modem to 
  23. send files both ways and what's more: you can even chat with the other 
  24. side at the same time and the CPS rate won't drop noticably. It can even 
  25. go up if you're sending uncompressed files because Jekyll will compress 
  26. them before sending and decompress them automatically when receiving!

  28. All this and more can now become part of your everyday life if you use 
  29. Jekyll v1.37!

  31. A quick overview of it's stunning features:

  33. - Full duplex files transfer (send files both ways)
  34. - Split screen chat with configurable magics (words automatically being 
  35.   replaced by alternatives) and function keys
  36. - Real-time data compression, unseen until now. Can compress executables 
  37.   up to 30% and text files up to 50%!!
  38. - File selector built in so you can select files while sending the 
  39.   previous files.
  40. - Host-mode: scan the hard disk at the other side and request files from 
  41.   it. Useful for BBS's and normal users. BBS's can set all sorts of limits 
  42.   so their users won't get more than they're supposed to!
  43. - File-viewer, to read something while downloading
  44. - A small terminal to quickly make a data connection

  48. The new features in v1.37 when compared to v1.32 are:

  51. - GMUS-protocol support: select music files for GigaMusic and Ultraplayer

  53. - Switches have been reassigned to four letters so their meaning is

  55. - Made MiNT/MultiTOS compatible
  56. - Chatlog, saves everything you and the remote type in a file
  57.   (-cout, -c_in & -chat)
  58. - Environment variable for configuration (JEKYLL=)
  59. - Files can be automatically deleted when succesfully sent (^..)
  60. - Screen routines imporved, now work a lot better when Jekyll's own screen
  61.   routines have been turned off, no more juddery scrolling
  62. - TT-ports can be used (-port)
  63. - Cache size can now go up to 64K and caches are now dynamically allocated
  64. - 4K-Caches for (chat)logfiles
  65. - Jekyll now returns a return-code, it is the amount of kilobytes sent,
  66.   this can be useful for level-calculations if BBS's use the host-mode
  67. - Host-mode now by default OFF, some sysops complained about it being
  68.   by default on
  69. - Bug fixed that caused Freeze Dried to run Jekyll a few times when you
  70.   installed it with an autostart-string and that caused QuickBBS to
  71.   sometimes get incorrect descriptions like "Jekyll v1.32" etc.
