- : For Cyber stuff, check out E. Arthur Brown. Their catalog lists CAD-3D,
- : CyberSculpt (which is also available from Lexicor now), etc. (I don't
- : recall seeing CyberPaint in there, but then again, I wasn't that interested
- : in it, as I have Lexicor's Prism Paint - which BTW is not all that
- : expensive.)
-
- Prims Paint is a good one too for frame editing but it's _very_ poor
- painting program, only standard utilities. CyperPaint 2 is the most
- powerfull paint prog. I've seen for ST, but it doesn't work on TT :(
- I'm ready to pay a lot of money from working version of CyperPaint 2.
- using that with other Phase-4 stuff and you can't find better
- animation system for the Atari-line. Of course if Alias-software
- starts support TT... PowerAnimator is the best modelling program, but
- works only with Iris Power Series and IMB (<- sorry the uppercase)
- RS/6000 power stations...
-
-
- : I also have Lexicor's Chronos-3D, which is pretty cool. It seems to have a
- : few bugs, but I haven't talked to Lexicor about them yet - I have one more
- : tutorial to work through, and then I'll have them all in one net :-) Chronos
- : is a bit expensive at about $200, but it's probably the most powerful 3D
- : animation program available for the ST/TT.
-
- Chronos seems okay to me, but it has very little shading options and
- the quality could be much better. No raytracing and you need extra
- program to do Texturing etc. There is also some German modeller for
- the TT (only for TT?) and it isn't that expensive that Phase-4. It has
- also Raytracing option and some object editor. InShape makes quite
- nice effects, I can see some raytracing made on demo pics and it's not
- even expensive: 498DM and there is all you need for nice modelling.
-
-
- : still around and supporting their stuff (they are even official Silicon
- : Graphics s/w developers now, and are porting some of their Phase IV s/w to
- : SGI machines). One thing though, Lexicor does not have their own 3D modeling
- : program for the Atari - you need CAD-3D (and optionally CyberSculpt, etc.).
- : Or, if you don't want to design your own objects, get Rosetta-3D and you can
- : translate a host of different 3D object formats to Lexicor's .3D4 format to
- : use with Chronos.
