- In a previous article, afonseca@terapin.com (Alberto Fonseca) says:
-
- >It seems that ATARI may have had it together all along, but kept it a secret,
- >which caused it to loose support and... well you know the rest.
- >
- >I was reading some messages on the stuff available for the ST, what really
- >interested me, as well as surprised me, was the graphics cards for the ST. I

- >megabyte disk drive, big hard disk, multi-sync monitor, and some programming
- >software like Lattice C for the ST, and you have a machine which is "up there"

-
-
- I'm not an Atari basher or anything, but I definitely believe that the company
- doesn't have everything together.
-
- I believe that their marketing strategy for the Falcon030 sucks.
-
-
-
- I believe that the Falcon series is doomed unless the Falcon040 is shipping
- within six months.
-
- I believe Atari's "12-key keypad, three button joystick" was thought up by
- an idiot.
-
- You have the world using JOYPADS and you are going to introduce a complicated
- 12-key keypad joystick!
-
- Every system on the market in the past that used a 12-key keypad was a FAILURE!
-
-
- I don't believe that Atari has more than two dozen large developers working
- on products for the Falcon030. I believe that Sam was leading us to believe
- that there are developers, but in reality he is HOPING that a hell of a lot
- more cmpanies will develop for it when it is actually in stores.
-
- I believe Atari was leading us on in September that we will actually see
- the Falcon030 in October, November, or December because they didn't want
- to see us abandoning them.
-
- I don't believe that Atari will have any CHAIN computer stores selling the
- Falcon030. I don't believe more than two dozen dealers will sell the machine
- nationwide.
-
- I don't believe Atari will have ANY press for the Falcon030 EVER which will
- ultimately destroy the company.
-
-
-
- I believe someone that is capable of fixing the above problems should be
- running the company.
-
- I don't even know where the problems exist. Is it in Atari USA or Atari Corp.?
-
-

- >there is already a graphics card waiting for the Falcon, at alot higher

- >low to begin with..
-
-
- Pretty soon, the Falcon030's resolution will suck if Atari doesn't get it on
- the market fast.

- >interested in developing don't have to feel bad about it.. There is actually
- >enough ST stuff to keep us happy, we just have to look for it.. Not like the
- >other computer companies, that try to help the users.. I still think its worth
- >it..
-
-
- Do you actually believe that there is enough ST stuff to keep you happy?
-
- Do you believe the 2600 will keep you happy even though there is Sega Genesis
- and Super NES on the market?
-
- My friend told me to get a clone instead of an ST. I would have except that
- I like to be part of the minority.
-

- >package "REQUIRES 4 MEGAYBTES OF RAM, AND A FALCON SCREENBLASTER". With the
- >DSP chip, sound quality, video and memory, I think one can make a great CD ROM
- >Based game or even a Really proffessional program.. Maybe even a hardware/CD
- >ROM package that can blow away the AMIGA's Video Toaster.
-
-
- Hahahaha, yeah, Atari's developers did their job, now its up to Atari's
- management and marketing team.
-
- >
- >Please tell me what you think about this, and if any of you share these visions
- >with me.
- >
-
-
- My vision is that YOU are a DREAMER!
-
- I don't see any go-getters at Atari, so I dn't believe the company will
- ever get going.
