  27. Back in the days of the 8-bit, Compute was great!  I learned a
  28. heck-of-lot about
  29. computers and programming by typing in Compute program listings and then
  30. debugging
  31. and/or enhancing the code.  It may have been BASIC, but I learned enough
  32. to land
  33. a programming job with only one computer class in college (FORTRAN; EE major).
