  13. Here's a weird one:

  15. I tried editing a file in the current directory with vi (SteVi,or
  16. something like that)

  18. Seems if I don't have a '.' in the filename, vi doesn't see it and
  19. opens up a new file instead.
  20. If I edit the new file and save it, vi puts a '.' at the end of the
  21. filename.

  23. I've gone to different directories and tried this, with the same
  24. result.

  26. If I exit mint and run gulam, then the vi editor works fine.

  28. Is there some kind of variable I'm forgetting to set in Mint?
