- Hmm.. although this discussion is very entertaining.. it does raise
- one point: the hardware manual comes in handy for non-OS programming.
- Consider this: the 4000 (a realtively fast machine) would be very nice
- with UNIX. But.. Commodore's record as far as UNIX is concerned is well,
- not very good (to say the least). So their are several other efforts
- currently underway, but in order to port over a new OS, you need to know
- about the machines *hardware*... otherwise your job will become very
- difficult. So.. in the interest of helping those who wish to undertake
- such things as a port of UNIX to new machines, Commodore should release
- an hardware manual for the machine.
