- Yes, it's called OCR - "Optical Character Recognition".
- The only company who makes Amiga OCR software (as far as I know)
- is MiGraph. Their software will drive their own hand scanners,
- and/or it can be used to post-process scanned text from non-
- supported scanners, as long as the scan is saved at a high enough
- DPI setting (dots per inch) in IFF or TIFF formats. The software
- actually works pretty much as advertised, but I gotta tell ya
- the process of scanning and then recognizing and then fixing
- up the text is slow enough that if you are a very fast typist
- (100wpm or so) you could type in text fater than you could scan
- and recognize and save it.
