- Did you tell them it was struck by lightning? How much did you pay to have
- it fixed?

-
- WHAT background? On your phone line? Sounds like your phone line or
- another phone in the house may be messed up. Modems don't have "static in
- the background." They only hook up to the phone line and IT would have the
- static.
-

-
- Oh really? Sounds like they've already bent over backwards to help you,
- sending you a second unit. Did you tell them your unit was hit by
- lightning? Or did you hide that fact and send it back as a warranty repair.
- Before you start chiding Supra, get your phone line checked.
-
- BTW- I had an old 9600 Supra modem hit by lightning. It was dead in the
- water. I could have tossed it out, but the techs at Supra told me they
- could probably fix it. 1.5 weeks later I got it back and totally ifxed for
- $75! They've done right by me.
-
- >can't imagine any setting that would cause static - especially such
- >intense static as this. Well, apparently Supra is braindead.. please
-
- Or YOU are. Sheesh, don't be do inflamitory without the facts you are here
- to ask about.
-
- >reply if you have any idea what's going on. Thanks.
-
- Yeah, you're probably complaining about the wrong piece of equipment. Have
- your phone line checked.

- I work with phone interfacing all the time at work. One thing is for sure,
- 99 times out of 100 it's the local testbench's problem.
