- Commodore execs,
- I talked with the people at the show, and they said there is no hope
- for upgrading the A3000 to AGA(literally: "very unlikely"), and that there is
- no power-up plan for any of the other systems. Regarding the possibility of an
- upgrade to the AGA chip set, a C= sales person (lost the business card) replied
- "It is too difficult. You would have to change everything." I then asked what
- we A2000/ A500/ A600 users were going to do with our machines. He said "Don't
- give up hope! Be patient." What does he mean? What is planned? Why was the
- A600 not at Comdex? Why was there wire-wrapping on the motherboard of the
- A4000? That looked sloppy.
- Oh, and one more thing: the A1200 uses those new credit-card-sized
- memory cards. the A1200 has 4megs in it. I found the company who makes the
- card, and it seems that they also make an 8meg card. Is it going to work?
- Also, with the release of the 68060 by Motorolla (nice sales people, BTW, and
- they gave me a tee-shirt just for being an Amiga-User!), Are we going to see
- some more from you? Also, poking around, I found some really fast RAM chips on
- display at that booth, and they were also about the size of gum sticks. 8-Megs
- of memory that tiny sure could fit into something like a laptop quite well.
- Essentially, Commodore, What is your plan?
