  12. Reconsidering my finances (*groan*) I realize that my plans of purchasing an
  13. A4000 are, well, toast. So, for the next year I think I'm stuck with my pitiful
  14. 500. SO.... at least I want to pump a bit of money into it in the hopes of at
  15. least being able to do something productive with it (20 minute compiles
  16. have got to go).

  18. My first thought is to buy GVP's new A530 (68030 + 120 meg HD).  But, the
  19. 120 Meg (largest that seems to be available) is a bit short on HD space (I
  20. am also running a BBS)... so, now I'm torn between getting a Syquest 88 Meg
  21. removable drive (this drive can be attached to the A530's scsi passthru, can't
  22. it?) or the AdIde and get rid of my internal floppy. Which offers the better
  23. solution? I've heard a few bad thing about the syquest drives and IDE speaks
  24. for itself (some things are better mute :) ). Are there other alternatives
  25. that I'm not considering?  Is there an easy way to attach another scsi drive
  26. to the A530 controller and just have the second drive in "yet another"
  27. external case?

  29. Lastly, I've inquired about this a couple of times in the past, but might as
  30. well throw it in once again for good measure :) Is there any easy way of adding
  31. an additional serial port to the 500 without resorting to the hardware hack 
  32. that's floating around? I would love to have a second port, however the
  33. hardware hack would be a bad idea considering my harware skills *grin*
  34.
