- I recently purchased an HPLJ IIIP w/ HP PS cartridge & 4MB memory
- expansion. Also has AppleTalk interface (for my wife's mac).
-
- The printer works fine with my wife's mac, but when I try setting it to
- parallel and sending PostScript from my A1000, the panel light (Form Feed)
- flashes a long time and nothing ever prints.
-
- My machine: A1000 w/ 4.5MB (ASDG Minirack-C w/ 8M board - 4M installed) and
- M.A.S.T. printer-port SCSI interface. The cabling is all the
- same as I have used for years with a Panasonic dot-matrix
- printer with no problem.
-
- The postscript files should be good. They come from my machine at work
- where I print directly to an HPLJ III w/ Pacific Page cartridge. No
- problems there.
-
- I have tried 'type >prt: file.ps', which gives the "printer trouble"
- requestor. I have also tried 'type >par: file.ps' which just flashes
- forever.
-
- The same commands, sent to another printer (both using the 'generic' driver
- in Preferences) prints the file just fine (as ascii).
-
- The specs on the A1000 (from an ancient Amiga World) and HP parallel
- ports are listed as follows:

- Pin A1000 HPLJ3P
- 1 drdy* strobe
- 2 data data

- Do I need some "creative cabling" here? Or have missed some
- ridiculously obvious command?
-
- Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
