- Anyone know much about modems? I have a Supra 2400 zi+ (internal, about
- two or so years old) that doesn't seem to work anymore. With the computer
- power on, it lifts the phone off the hook, and leaves it that way. There
- is some sort of buzzing noise added, listening through the phone.
-
- It won't receive any commands or do anything. I pulled out the two
- socketed chips, and nothing seemed to change, so maybe one of the chips
- is blown. Are these chips readily available, or should I just not even
- bother (this might not even be the problem), and buy a new modem?
-
- Speaking of new modems, I want to get an interal 2400 Fax modem (with
- software). Is there anything like this for about $150 or so? Or
- should I get something better? Oh well, thanks for any replies...
