- I just ordered a 2630 accelerator and I had some questions about
- compatibility with my current setup and was hoping someone could answer
- my questions.
-
- I have a GVP Series II SCSI/RAM card with 6 megs of 16 bit ram. Now,
- as I understand it, the 4 megs of 2630 memory resides in the 68000's 8 meg
- fast ram address space (where my 6 megs are currently located). Is this
- correct? And if so, does that mean that I will have to give up my 6 megs
- of 16-bit RAM?
-
- Can the RAM on the SCSI card coexist with that on the accelerator?
-
- If not, can 4 megs of the SCSI/RAM card mem. coexist with the accel.
- ram. and will everything autoconfig properly for a total of eight megs
- of fast ram.
-
- Does anyone know of any incompatibility problems one way or the other?
-
- Also, does a card like DKB's ram expander place all memory in the
- '030 a32-bit address space?
-
- Please don't tell me that using 16-bit memory is going to be slow.
- I know this already, thanks.
-
- Thanks in advance to all who help me out. A special thanks to
- Barry McConnell for his 'DMA and Accelerators FAQ' which I picked up
- a while ago...
