It is a 2MHz timer and it is fairly simple to use if you can get access to
the VLSI datasheets to make sense of the various latches. The simple precie is that you register your code as a device driver/handler with the OS for device 6 (IOC Timer 1). You then set the IOC's latch and trigger it. From there on it till you stop it the timer will generate an Interupt every x number of 2 MHz ticks.
