- We've implemented a TN3270 server for our IBM mainframe on an RS/6000
- running AIX. I've had no training in Unix, but it seems that on AIX
- the TN3270 software obtains the terminal type from AIX and uses it to
- locate the appropriate table for mapping 3270 datastreams into the
- client datastreams. The terminal type is obtained by AIX at logon
- time. How would TN3270 get the terminal type if logon is bypassed?
- (The TN3270 code could be hacked, if one cares to get into that.)
