  15. I downloaded wnqvtnet 3.03 and got it running OK over ethernet and
  16. like it very much.  However, I'm having some troubles running it
  17. over SLIP with both the ETHERSL and SLIP8250 Crynwr packet drivers.
  18. (I've got a Sun Sparc1+ running SunOS4.1.1 on the other side of the
  19. SLIP link)

  21. With one of the packet drivers (I don't recall which right at the
  22. moment), I get many of the following on the console:
  23.     IP:bad version number
  24. and a few packet checksum errors.

  26. With the other packet driver, I get a lot of:
  27.     IP:fragmented packet received, frags not support
  28.     IP:bad version number
  29.  
  30. Does anyone have any suggestions?  What should be used for mtu and
  31. segment size values?  I've used this same SLIP link with KA9Q and
  32. the Cutcp (NCSA) stuff.  It works OK with them although performance
  33. isn't that hot.

  35. My equipment and software:
  36.     Sun Sparc1+ with SunOS4.1.1
  37.         running slip version slip-4.1.1
  38.     NEC Powermate 386 running DOS5.0 and MSWindows3.1
  39.     Telebit T1600 modems on both sides (9600 baud)
  40.     wnqvtnet 3.03
  41.     Either ETHERSL or SLIP8250 p.d. from Crynwr
