- Current Internet Draft documents concerning RMON may be obtained as
- follows:
-
- System: ftp.nisc.sri.com
- Directory: internet-drafts
- Files: draft-ietf-rmon-mib-01.txt
- draft-ietf-rmon-trap-00.txt
-
- For some reason, rollout and standardization seem to going very slowly.
- This has not stopped a number of manufacturers (Hewlett-Packard, Novell, and
- TTC come to mind) from introducing "RMON-compliant" monitors, even though
- there is NO standard yet!
-
- Of course, there always comes a time when you have to stop studying and
- start implementing - fish or cut bait... I am planning on buying 25 or 30
- RMON segment monitors this spring for our network.
