- I am trying to evaluate and reccomend a network monitoring package
- for our ever expanding LAN. We currently have ~100-150 nodes on ethernet
- using DECnet and tcp/ip. We will be using fiber in the future. The questions
- I'm trying to answer follow. If there is enough interest, I'll summarize to
- the net.
-
- What are you using for network monitoring? What features do you
- find most useful? Most annoying? What additional features would you like
- to see? DO you think you will be using this software a year from now? In
- five years? What have your experiences been with this software, positive or
- negative? If you had to do it again, what would you change?
-
- On what platform is your package presently running? On what
- other platforms can it be used? Is your shop a multivendor or single
- vendor workplace? Does the package you're using have problems montoring
- any particular vendors' hardware? Whose? Do you know why? If you could
- choose another platform on which to run your monitoring package whose
- would you choose and why?
-
- Thanks in advance.
