  12.     I am trying to evaluate and reccomend a network monitoring package
  13. for our ever expanding LAN. We currently have ~100-150 nodes on ethernet
  14. using DECnet and tcp/ip. We will be using fiber in the future. The questions
  15. I'm trying to answer follow. If there is enough interest, I'll summarize to 
  16. the net.

  18.     What are you using for network monitoring? What features do you
  19. find most useful? Most annoying? What additional features would you like
  20. to see? DO you think you will be using this software a year from now? In
  21. five years? What have your experiences been with this software, positive or
  22. negative? If you had to do it again, what would you change?

  24.     On what platform is your package presently running?  On what
  25. other platforms can it be used? Is your shop a multivendor or single
  26. vendor workplace?  Does the package you're using have problems montoring
  27. any particular vendors' hardware?  Whose?  Do you know why?  If you could
  28. choose another platform on which to run your monitoring package whose 
  29. would you choose and why?
