- Hello,
-
- When a NFS client locks a record on the NFS server, and if the client
- goes down who is responsible for releasing the locks? Some of the vendors
- say that the locks will be released only when the client system comes up
- again. When I read the NFS specs, it kind of indicates that the server
- statd should identify the shutdown clients and release the locks.
-
- Some of the vendors do not agree with this?
-
- Could any of the NFS gurus out there help me with this?
-
- This is a serious problem considering the number of PC NFS clients.
- Please send me an email as I don't read News regularly. I will summarize
- the responses and post it.
-
- Thanks in advance
