- Hi. We've got the upgrade version of PC-NFS 4.0, and I have several licenses
- on order. In order to test the software, I borrowed the old PCNFS.SYS file
- from another employee's decommisioned PC here and installed it on an Insight
- 486DX, 50 MHz machine with a Sony 3c503 Ethernet board. I also copied the
- pcnfsd installations files onto our Sparc II from the floppies, and added
- rpc.pcnfsd to our startup procedures.
-
- The problem: if attempting the command "net pcnfsd server-name", either by
- itself or inside the network.bat file, the PC turns on a blip in the upper
- right corner and hangs. All TCP-IP addresses are correct, 'ping' to and from
- all machines involved works fine, and the thinwire Ethernet seems fine.
-
- The only non-default setting I've made is the interrupt on the ethernet
- board, which I've set to 5 instead of 3 to avoid conflicting with com port 2.
- Has anyone else had this problem? Is this a software bug, or should I wait
- for the new license and test with that? Any ideas on what to check?
