  13. I know there has been a lot of response to this letter, but I figured I might as well get my two cents in.  In my schooling, my first language was Pascal, followed by Fortran.  
  14. In my opinion, Pascal is a very good language to start out with.  It teaches you good structuring techniques and syntax rules that follow you through any language you learn.
