  26. The conference will provide an international forum for the presentation 
  27. and discussion of recent research in the areas of programming languages 
  28. and system architectures. Authors are invited to submit papers describing 
  29. original research related to these areas. Particularly encouraged are 
  30. contributions discussing their mutual influence. Also, unrefereed 
  31. contributions of 5-20 min. duration, and of a technical and/or personal 
  32. nature are solicited for an afternoon session honoring N. Wirth.

  35. Subjects of special interest include, but are not restricted to:

  37. Programming language design and history, Programming environments, 
  38. Programming methods, Operating systems, Compiler construction, 
  39. Innovative system architectures
  40.

  42. Send two copies of technical contributions to the program chair. 
  43. Submissions should not exceed 15 pages and must not have been published 
  44. or submitted for publication elsewhere. Where possible, include the 
  45. e-mail address and fax number of the contact author. Potential contributors 
  46. to the special session in honor of Niklaus Wirth should contact the program 
  47. chair for more information.

  49. Proceedings will be published by Springer Verlag in the Lecture Notes in 
  50. Computer Science series and will be distributed at the conference.
