  11. This post is for a friend who does not have net access.

  14. "I work for a small company developing under OS/2 1.3, using Microsoft
  15. C 6.0, and Microsoft OS/2 Presentation Manager Toolkit 2.1.  We are
  16. converting to OS/2 2.0.  We are interested in improving our support
  17. environment and would be very grateful for answers to a few questions:

  19. 1) What are the relative values of the following sources regarding the
  20. resolution of problems and the recommendation of solutions in the OS/2
  21. environment?
  22.     - comp.os.os2 newsgroups
  23.     - Compuserve fora
  24.     - IBM Helpware
  25.     - IBM OS/2 Bulletin Board
  26.     - IBM programmers & developers groups
  27.     - IBM Boca Raton programmer's club?
  28.     - any other notable sources?

  30. 2) What are some recommended patches, upgrades, kluges, etc. to tidy up
  31. OS/2 2.0, PM Toolkit 2.1, and MSC 6.0?  What are other recommended
  32. development applications?

  34. 3) Here are a couple of sample questions that we are looking to answer:

  36.     How does one use cvp to debug a Presentation Manager
  37.     application?  We generally get a segmentation violation or an
  38.     unfriendly lockup when we try to do so.  Is there a debugger
  39.     out there for OS/2 that is more robust?
  40.  
  41.     Why when changing a file or folder name on the OS/2 2.0
  42.     desktop does it often take several attempts to actually
  43.     complete the change?
  44.  
  45. Any and all suggestions, recommendations, answers, redirections, lies,
