  10. It's just been brought to my attention that the i/o bitmap can be used
  11. to enable i/o instructions for selected ports in 32-bit mode as well
  12. as in virtual 86 mode. Is there a way in os/2 for an application
  13. to get i/o permission for specific ports when running 32-bit code?
  14. This would eliminate the need for a ring change to execute i/o
  15. instructions and would speed up real-time control routines.
