- It's just been brought to my attention that the i/o bitmap can be used
- to enable i/o instructions for selected ports in 32-bit mode as well
- as in virtual 86 mode. Is there a way in os/2 for an application
- to get i/o permission for specific ports when running 32-bit code?
- This would eliminate the need for a ring change to execute i/o
- instructions and would speed up real-time control routines.
