  13. I've run into this problem before.  It's essentially a hardware conflict.
  14. I don't know about the other board, but the 3com board needs some help.

  16. In the Dell setup (cntl-alt-enter does it for my 433d) you probably want to
  17. disable com 2 (uses irq 3) and you must disable the memory being used by
  18. the 3com card.  You can do this on the second screen of the setup program.
  19. Set your card for something you can disable in setup and then disable that
  20. range.  Then the diagnostics should work fine.
