- I am working on an equivalent to the DIS_PKT.DOS shim for OS/2, which will
- provide a user-level (Ring 3) callable interface to an NDIS driver. The
- semantics are intentionally very similar to the FTP packet driver spec,
- which means a Virtual packet driver could be written fairly easily. When
- I originally mentioned this project, someone offered to write such a
- VDD. (I still have your email address somewhere, so hang on...I'll
- tap your shoulder yet)
-
- Unfortunately, I can't give you a time frame, as this is a very low
- priority project (due to lack of time) right now. I can see that interest
- in such a driver is definitely rising, however, so I'll try to scratch
- up some more time...bear with me....
-
- If you just can't wait, I remember mention in this group a while ago
- of someone who was porting an app to OS/2, and he had done much of
- the NDIS interface work already. If he's willing to share his code,
- it could perhaps be coerced into a virtual packet driver. (Or I might
- be able to use it to speed up my work)
