  29. I am working on an equivalent to the DIS_PKT.DOS shim for OS/2, which will
  30. provide a user-level (Ring 3) callable interface to an NDIS driver.  The
  31. semantics are intentionally very similar to the FTP packet driver spec,
  32. which means a Virtual packet driver could be written fairly easily.  When
  33. I originally mentioned this project, someone offered to write such a 
  34. VDD.  (I still have your email address somewhere, so hang on...I'll 
  35. tap your shoulder yet)

  37. Unfortunately, I can't give you a time frame, as this is a very low 
  38. priority project (due to lack of time) right now.  I can see that interest
  39. in such a driver is definitely rising, however, so I'll try to scratch
  40. up some more time...bear with me....

  42. If you just can't wait, I remember mention in this group a while ago
  43. of someone who was porting an app to OS/2, and he had done much of 
  44. the NDIS interface work already.  If he's willing to share his code,
  45. it could perhaps be coerced into a virtual packet driver. (Or I might
  46. be able to use it to speed up my work)
