-
- Thanks; I'll check it out. I've received some private email asking about
- the copyini program that I used: it is part of wpstools.zip, which is on
- hobbes.

-
- In my case, the mistakes _were_ mine; checkini gave me an opportunity to
- correct some errors, but advised against it. I ignored the advice.
-
- While the documentation for checkini is insufficient for this
- nonprogrammer ("sucks big time" overstates the case, but it isn't enough
- if you don't sort of know what you're doing), the documentation for
- copyini was adequate and the program worked as advertised. This user is
- grateful to the author, who provided a useful and effective tool with
- no thought of profit. Yeah, I'd like an idiot-proof free maintenance
- utility, too, but I don't feel entitled to one and I don't feel entitled
- to bash someone for generously providing a good, useful, simple program
- that works as advertised, plus a more sophisticated one that I misused.
- (Actually, I do feel entitled to an idiot-proof free utility, but only
- from IBM and only in the form of a patch or update. Now that we have an
- APAR number, that should eventually appear.)
-
- Not a flame, just an expression of appreciation, interjected for
- balance. I, too, will be wary of checkini, but also of unneeded or
- excessive precaution.
