- I am posting this for a friend (note the Reply-To line above).
-
- He has a generic 486/33 computer with Tseng 1024x768x256 video. He
- has installed GA and the SP and the Tseng drivers. One day, after
- some version of WPSBACKUP crashed, the Shutdown and Lockup options
- disappeared from the system menu.
-
- We looked all over the Desktop file's extended attributes and in the
- OS2.INI file, but could find no reference to the entries. We found
- that the user-defined menu items were in the EA's, but the Lockup and
- Shutdown entries are probably pointers into a DLL file somewhere, so
- we couldn't figure out what to replace.
-
- Anyhow, rebuilding the desktop (delete the desktop file, os2.ini and
- os2sys.ini and rebuild them from ini.rc and inisys.rc and wait for the
- desktop to rebuild after a reboot) brought the menu items back.
-
- Has anyone figured out a better way to do this?
