  13. My OS/2 completely died.  One morning I turned my machine on and 
  14. the system failed to even display the OS/2 logo screen and just
  15. displayed SYS1025 and SYS 1027 errors and froze.

  17. I booted OS/2 from a floopy disk and ran check disk; some major
  18. damage was done to the EA's, and 2 files not related to OS/2 were 
  19. cross linked.  The EA's were fixed so I tried to boot the system
  20. again.  It slowly, grudgingly booted and when the WPS came up
  21. a message box poped up and said that WPS ini files damaged and 
  22. only a cmd.exe window was opened.  For some reason this messaged box
  23. kept coming up and infinite sessins of cmd.exe's were being run.

  25. I turned off the machine and booted flopy again; no errors this time
  26. except for the 2 irrevalent cross-links.  I booted hard and 
  27. was greeted with 1025 and 1027.  Zonkers!

  29. So I booted DOS (I have 1 FAT partition of 200mb on a Maxter 213a).
  30. I ran Norton disk doctor and it indicated that the FAT is damaged 
  31. and repaired it.  With that came the usualy bunch of lost clusters and
  32. cross links.  I noticed both OS2.INI and OS2SYS.INI  were in the
  33. casualty list.

  35. Anyhow I booted OS/2 again and 1025 and 1027 stopped it cold. 
  36. So I rebooted DOS and ran Norton Disk Doctor only to find that
  37. more of the FAT was damaged and more files trashed....

  40. This problem has occured before during GA and I hoped that after
  41. I installed SP it would go away and it didn't.  Is this possibly
  42. some kind of hardware problem, especially, hard drive or controller?

  44. Any help would be appreciated.
