- The suggestion was to boot into DOS or a VMB, and create
- a new SVGADATA.PMI file, using VMODE MONITOR, VMODE 38 and
- then SVGA ON, rather than doing it under an OS/2 DOS emulation.
-
- On the 3 machines I tried this on, SVGA ON gave me the error
- "Unknown adapter/chipset". This makes no sense, since
-
- (1) SVGA WHO does recognize the chipset as the ET4000, and says the
- usual thing about lucid information and Chip/Dale.
-
- (2) SVGA ON if run from a DOS fullscreen session under OS/2 works
- ( giving me sync. problems)
-
- I'm using Version 3.24 of VMODE, and Diamond Speedstar cards ( not
- Plus, and not the 24X). The monitors are the Gateway CS1024 NI's.
-
- Anyone else seeing this kind of behavior ?
